DRIVING INFORMATION
- Northern Cyprus has a left-sided driving system.
- International driving standards.
- You will need a valid driver’s licence from your country of residence or an International Driving Permit
- Foreign driver’s licenses are only valid for three months from the entry to Northern Cyprus.
- Speed limits are enforced by radar devices and cameras.
- Highway speed limits are set at 100km/h and 65 to 60 km/h.
- For front seat passengers seatbelts are a must.
- Children under 5 are not allowed to sit in the front passenger seat.
- Using a cell-phone while driving is forbidden.
- No driving ub-nder the influence.
- Rentals can not be taken to the South part of the island (South Cyprus, over the green line).
- Most car hire companies require you to be of at least 25 years of age to rent a car.
